Inauguration of Saint-Louis Airport by President Macky Sall
On 14th July 2022, H.E. the President of Senegal, Macky Sall, conducted the historic inauguration of the newly renovated Saint-Louis Airport.
The airport is now officially named Ousmane Masseck Ndiaye Airport in honor of the prominent local native and former member of the government and former mayor of Saint-Louis.
Martin Tlapa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and special envoy of the Czech President, attended the inauguration ceremony on behalf of the Czech Government.
In his speech, President Macky Sall praised high quality and successful execution of the airport including the modular airport concept. The President also praised the Czech company TRANSCON ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS and its subcontractors for excellent work done. The other participants expressed themselves in a similar spirit and they also appreciated the fact that the airport has been equipped with modern and latest technologies.
Inauguration of the Saint-Louis Airport is important part of the First phase of the reconstruction of Senegal's regional airports which is implemented within the Program of Reconstruction of Senegal’s Regional Airports (PRAS). Currently, the reconstruction of another airport, Ourossogui-Matam, is successfully underway, with roughly 60% complete.
