Donation of two 3D printers

The Czech company in charge of reconstruction of Senegal's regional airports, TRANSCON ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS, together with its partner, KOMA Modular, donated two Czech-made Průša MK3S 3D printers to the Cheikh Ahmadoul Khadim Complex for Education and Training in Touba.

The supply of the material was coupled with a specialized 5-day training of 7 students carried out by the specialist 3D printing firm MAKE3D. The training of future Senegalese experts (which took place from June 13 to 17, 2023) was kicked-off at a ceremony in the presence of the Caliph General of the Mourides of Touba Serigne Mountakha Bassirou MBACKÉ and the Ambassador of the Czech Republic H.E. Mr. Marek SKOLIL. The initiative marks previous pledges by Transcon and Koma to help develop the technical skills of its Senegalese partners.

3D printing offers the possibility of wider industrial application and thus creates the potential to reduce the country's dependence on foreign imports of selected products, e.g. medical orthoses, office supplies and other durable consumables. The Czech Republic, with its great experience, is ready to support Senegal's efforts in this area.
